Campfire rules

Last updated: 18 August 2026

A campfire is one to ten people who already know each other: there is no search, no suggestions, no strangers. You join with a code someone gives you. Even so, the moment there is a conversation and photos, written rules are needed — and a way to stop someone who breaks them from being in front of you.

By writing or sending a photo in a campfire you accept these rules. They are short because there is not much to say.

What you cannot post

Zero tolerance: there are no prior warnings and no second chances for anything on that list. An account that posts any of it is closed.

Reporting

Press and hold any message or photo, or tap ··· in the photo viewer, and choose Report. Two things happen:

Blocking

You can also block someone without reporting them: press and hold their message and choose Block this person. You stop seeing their content. It is not symmetrical — they are not told — and you can undo it whenever you want.

What we do

We do not read conversations. We only look at content someone reports, and only to decide on that report.

What is posted in a campfire is kept while the campfire stays lit, and for 90 days after its streak breaks; then it is deleted for real, photos included. Reported material is kept while the case is open. It is all explained in the privacy policy.

Write to us

If something does not fit under "report", or you want to tell us about a problem with another person, email hello@heylume.app. We answer.
